Kalu Waterfall Trek – Hidden Monsoon Gem of Malshej Ghat
The Kalu Waterfall Trek is one of the most scenic monsoon treks near Mumbai, taking you through the untouched forests of Malshej Ghat to the base of the magnificent Kalu Waterfall. Standing at nearly 1,200 ft, Kalu is one of the tallest waterfalls in Maharashtra and a spectacular sight during the monsoon season.
The trek follows an ancient forest trail once used by local villagers before the construction of the Malshej Ghat road. The route passes through dense jungle, stream crossings, rocky patches, and scenic valleys while offering stunning views of Harishchandragad, Rohidas, Bhairavgad, Kombada, and Thitbi. As you walk alongside the roaring Kalu River, you'll experience the raw beauty of the Sahyadris at its best.
