🏔️ Kalsubai Peak Trek – Highest Peak in Maharashtra
Standing tall at 5400 ft, Kalsubai Peak is the highest peak in Maharashtra, located in the Ahmednagar district within the Sahyadri mountain ranges. Popularly known as the “Everest of Maharashtra”, this trek is one of the most sought-after experiences for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers.
At the summit lies a small yet sacred Kalsubai Temple, dedicated to the local deity. Despite its modest size, the temple holds immense spiritual significance and offers trekkers a rewarding sense of accomplishment upon reaching the top.
🌄 Panoramic Views from the Summit
The highlight of the Kalsubai trek is the breathtaking 360-degree view from the summit. On a clear day, you can witness some of the most iconic peaks and forts of the Sahyadris:
Harihargad and Brahmagiri towards the north
The majestic Alang, Madan, Kulang (AMK) range is known for its rugged terrain
The famous rock formations of Ratangad towards the southwest
Harishchandragad and Ghanchakkar Peak stretch across the southern horizon
These stunning landscapes make Kalsubai one of the best trekking destinations near Mumbai and Pune.
